Step three:

All applicants are required to have a in home visit by a Calgary Adopt a Parrot case worker. This visit is intended to assist in a suitable species / personality match as well as "signing" of the adoption agreement.

Step four:

Once a suitable match is found and you have expressed interest in the parrot / bird available for adoption. The home visit will take place (contract signing). Your first name and telephone number will then be forwarded to the current bird owner / caregiver.

Step five:

Once the parrot / bird has been placed in your adoptive home, you will have agreed to visit an approved Veterinarian for a in "Writing" Veterinarian health report with in 14 days of the Adoption date (at your expense).

Step six:

A Calgary Adopt a Parrot case worker will contact you for a follow up visit 6-12 months after adoption placement.

NOTE: Veterinarian health report must be available at this time.

LET IT BE UNDERSTOOD:

If at anytime during the first 24 months from the adoption date the bird is to be once again be relocated for what ever reason, Calgary Adopt a Parrot will be notified to re home the bird in question, you will give Calgary Adopt a Parrot reasonable time to place the bird in a suitable permanent accommodation. At any time during the first 24 months after adoption date of the said bird the new owner sells or transfers the parrot, the market value of bird and supplies be forwarded by money order to Calgary Adopt a Parrot.
